چکیده

Background Cardiac MRI (CMR) is increasingly being used clinically to assess patients with ventricular dysrhythmias. Structural heart disease such as non-compaction is associated with dysrhythmic risk. Recent literature has characterized the regional thickness of the compacted and trabeculated layers of the left ventricle (LV) in normal subjects but not in patients with ventricular dysrhythmias. We sought to characterize the regional thickness of the compacted and trabeculated layers in a young community-based ventricular dysrhythmia population.

Assessment of the trabeculated to compacted layer ratio of the left ventricle using short and longitudinal axis views in young patients presenting with ventricular dysrhythmias

Background Cardiac MRI (CMR) is increasingly being used clinically to assess the regional thickness of the compacted and trabeculated layers of the left ventricle (LV) in patients with suspected non-compaction. However, there is no consensus on whether the short or longitudinal axis view is preferred. We sought to assess the compacted and trabeculated layers in a young ventricular dysrhythmia p...

Regional thicknesses and thickening of compacted and trabeculated myocardial layers of the normal left ventricle studied by cardiovascular magnetic resonance.

BACKGROUND We used cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) to study normal left ventricular (LV) trabeculation as a basis for differentiation from pathological noncompaction. METHODS AND RESULTS The apparent end-diastolic (ED) and end-systolic (ES) thicknesses and thickening of trabeculated and compacted myocardial layers were measured in 120 volunteers using a consistent selection of basal, ...

بررسی یافته های اکوکاردیو گرافیک قلبی در بیماران سیروز کبدی

Introduction: Cardiovascular abnormalities have been reported in liver cirrhosis (LC). In these patients, cardiac symptoms and physical signs occur as the liver functions worsen. Cirrhosis is associated with hyper dynamic circulation and beta-adrenergic system changes responsible for the cardiovascular abnormalities. The purpose of the present study was to explore the echocardiographic findi...

Hypereosinophilic Cardiac Involvement Presenting With Left Ventricular Massive Thrombus and Cardioembolic Stroke: A Case Report

Introduction: It is well known that the tendency toward thrombosis is increased in cancer patients. The increase in cancer procoagulant and tissue factor levels, endothelial damage, and stasis due to compression are among the most accused causes of thrombosis in cancer patients. Hypereosinophilia is a rare condition that causes endothelial damage leading to thrombosis. <s...

Comparison of Cardiac Function in Young Patients with Thalassemia Intermedia and Healthy Individuals Using Echocardiography Method

Background: Cardiac dysfunction due to chronic anemia and hemosiderosis are the major causes of death among patients with thalassemia intermedia. This study was performed to compare the cardiac function in thalassemia intermedia patients with normal subjects by means of echocardiography. Materials and Methods: This was a case-control study performed on 22 patients affected by thalassemia int...
